All contributing members of the Social Security System (SSS) who have lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic will receive the equivalent of one month’s wages or up to P20,000 cash benefits.
This is what the SSS has announced amid rising unemployment rates in the country over the past month.
The cash aid provided by SSS will be divided into two grants within two months.
Nicolas also said that those who have received assistance from other government programs are still qualified for the cash assistance program.
The only ones who do not qualify for qualification are the ‘self-employed’ SSS members.
Who is qualified for unemployment benefit?

- Members who made at least 36 monthly contributions, 12 months of which should’ve been paid within the last 18 months prior to the separation
