New lockdown rules are set to be announced by President Duterte on June 15 and this decision depends on the fate of the community quarantine imposed on the country according to spokesperson Harry Roque.
The IATF had the recommendation on Wednesday but Roque declined to discuss what they would present to the President.
“The only options are magiging modified GCQ, GCQ, o modified ECQ. Hindi masyadong bago o different ang mga classifications na pwede papuntahan ng Metro Manila at Cebu City,” sabi niya sa kanyang regular briefing.
He noted that the focus is now on Metro Manila and Cebu City, where most of the newly-recorded COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the country.
“It does not inspire relaxation, but the announcement is subject to appeal and would be announced by the President,” sabi niya.
The Department Of Health reported Wednesday more than 740 infected, with 452 confirmed in the last three days.
The country now has 23,732 cases, with 4,895 recoveries and 1,027 deaths.
