Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said Monday, April 6, that the IATF-EID or Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases will decide whether or not to extend the existing enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.
“Yes, that includes talking with us so that we can make recommendations to President Duterte, because ultimately President Duterte will make the decision,” Nograles said
Their decision will be based on scientific data, including “epidemiological trends, health capacity systems, and social, economic, and security concerns.” said Secretary Nograles
According to the Manila Standard –
“We are inclined to extend the lockdown up to April 30,” the President said in his address to the nation late Monday evening.
“Magnakaw ka, manghiram ka — wala akong pakialam, because if we run out of funds, I told you from the start this COVID will really hit us hard,” he said.
ECQ is effective until midnight of April 13.
In the latest DOH update, there have been 3,660 COVID-19 cases in the Philippines, including 163 deaths and 73 recovery.
